Frequently Asked Questions
How are they different from KIMA compression socks?
KIMA socks reach just below the knee and have 15-20 mmHg compression.
These stockings cover the whole leg, from ankle to thigh, with 20-30 mmHg graduated compression and a wide silicone band that holds them at the thigh.
What is KIMA's 60-Day Fit Guarantee?
If you need another size, email hello@bykima.com within 60 days of delivery. Give us your order number and the size you want.
The size exchange is free: we send you a prepaid return label, you send the pair back and, as soon as we receive it, we send you the new size.
Do they slide down or roll?
The thigh band is wide and has silicone dots on the inside, designed to keep the stocking in place while you move.
A tip: put them on over dry skin, with no cream or oil in the band area, so the silicone grips well.
How do I choose my size?
Measure the circumference of your thigh, your calf, and your ankle with a flexible tape measure, and compare your measurements with the size guide you'll find next to the buy button.
If your measurements fall into different sizes, write to us and we'll help you choose.
How do I put them on?
20-30 mmHg stockings are firmer than regular stockings, so it's best to take your time putting them on.
Put your hand inside the stocking down to the heel, hold it, and turn the stocking inside out up to that point. Slip your foot in, adjust the heel, and pull the stocking up the leg little by little, without pulling on the band. It's usually easier in the morning.
What level of compression do they have?
20-30 mmHg graduated compression: firmer at the ankle and gentler as it moves up toward the thigh.
It's a higher level than our socks (15-20 mmHg). If this is your first time using this level, consult your doctor first.
Can I wear them if I have diabetes, varicose veins, or edema?
20-30 mmHg compression is often used on medical recommendation.
If you have varicose veins, edema, diabetes, arterial circulation problems, a wound on your leg, or any other health problem, consult your doctor before wearing them: they will tell you whether this level of compression is right for you.
Is the toe open or closed?
The toe is closed: the stocking covers the whole foot.
The fabric is opaque and smooth, and they are available in beige and in black.
How should I care for them?
To care for them, we recommend washing them by hand or on a delicate cycle.
– Cold water
– Mild soap, no bleach (chlorine) or fabric softener
– Air dry, no tumble dryer
